Our small staff team are very experienced. We have two qualified teachers, and all staff are at least level 3 qualified Lauren has recently completed her level 5 certificate in leadership. All staff have been with us for at least 6 years. Every child is allocated their own key person to be the main carer and contact for parents. We are ALL qualified in paediatric first-aid.

We have developed our own curricuum which sets out what children will be enabled to learn and achieve and how we will teach. We cover all aspects of development, such as literacy, numeracy, dancing, singing, storytelling, arts and crafts, drama, mindfulness, physical activities, science, personal development, and a love of learning. As you can see from our photos, we love outdoor learning.

We support the individual needs of all children, and include them in all aspects of preschool. If your child has a Special Educational Need or Disablity, please contact us and discuss this with our SENDCo, Sandra Matthews, who will support them to access Acorns. All staff use Makaton fluently.

We recognise how hard it can be to leave your child, often for the first time, with people other than family. To support you and your child, we provide home visits and flexible settling-in sessions, so that by the time they start, you feel confident to leave your child with us. We are happy to tailor this to ensure that both you and your child feel comfortable.

We partner with Bilton Grange School who provide regular Forest School Sessions for Acorns children. Children learn a range of skills such as lighting fires, woodwork and den building. We have replicated forest school activities in our own outdoor area so that the children can practice the skills they are learning.

We have a Healthy schools bronze award and we are working towards the Silver award. This includes supporting staff and children's well-being, healthy eating and exercise.

To support chiildren's understanding of staying healthy, we do daily teeth cleaning after lunch and have regular visits from a dentist.

We are part of the Nuffield Early Education (Neli) Preschool Project which promotes children's language development, through daily Neli sessions activities, which helps to promote a love of books and reading. We are also undertaking the NDNA Maths Champions programme to support effective teaching of early maths.
